Musical Hydrotherapy training bursaries

How we help special schools to access our training programmes

We know that our Musical Hydrotherapy training and equipment is a big investment.

Broken down, it represents really good value for money because we train 8-10 teachers at a time, and essentially a whole school is enabled to embrace and embed Musical Hydrotherapy as part of its therapeutic curriculum as a result of the fully-CPD accredited week that we spend with you. Once a school is trained, we provide free membership, which includes a free day of annual refresher training in-school, equipment maintenance and access to our specialists for support and troubleshooting. It's also important to stress that our training courses, like all of our work, is non profit-making. We charge what it costs.

But we also know that budgets for special schools have always been stretched..... and are frequently now at what feels like breaking point. Training and staff development, which should be core, can feel like an unaffordable luxury.

And that’s why for the last 2 years we’ve adjusted the way our tiny little charity works. We’ve redirected our own energies towards fundraising, which has allowed us to create a bursary scheme to help special schools in the UK to afford Musical Hydrotherapy training.

We work with our schools on a very open, transparent basis. We talk to them about the training, their pupils, their staff and about what they can afford. Sometimes schools can meet most of the training costs and we’re a top-up for the “last bit”. Sometimes it’s the opposite and that’s fine too. Usually it’s somewhere in the middle.

So if you, or someone you know, have been looking at Musical Hydrotherapy and have been thinking that it would really work well in your school, but you can’t imagine where the budget would come from, we really do want you to talk to us. We’re still very small and our bursary programme is still in a growth stage. But we genuinely believe that budget should not be a barrier to accessibility, and we want all schools, no matter their financial situation, to be able to access our training even if they can only afford to pay a contribution towards the real cost.

Please contact us and encourage others to do so too. The more schools and teachers we have within our Musical Hydrotherapy community, the more children with complex needs we’ll be able to help.
